I have been thinking about designing my Christmas card for this year and wanted to make one that could show a 4" x 6" family portrait inside. Wouldn't you know it, The Pink Stamper had a challenge that made me drop the back-to-school and unpacking-from-our-camping-trip work and start brain-storming!
I knew I wanted to make a gate-fold card but wasn't sure what item I wanted to use for the "handle" on the gate. The Pink Stamper's challenge was to use a Cricut Cartridge so I looked at bunch: Santa, Snowman, Reindeer and Candy Cane. All would be great and I thought I could use different ones to change it up a bit. After all was said and done, I decided on the multi-layered Christmas Ornament #1 from the Christmas Cheer cartridge.
I cut the ornament at 3 1/2" for all layers, including the Shadow Feature. The card is cut at 6" x 12" for the purple Bazzill paper and 5 1/2" x 11 1/2" for the silver Bazzill paper. The trick is to fold the paper 3" on each end for the purple paper and 2 15/16" from each end on the silver paper so that they snug against each other when glued together. I used the Cuddlebug's snow folder on the silver paper. The patterned paper is from K & Company, Floral Dreams.
It opens to a holiday sentiment. I also added K & Co. iridescent gems and Stickles Crystal to the ornament.
Thanks for looking!
