First Day of School - Cricut Locker Talk

Hi Everyone - Happy Friday and three day weekend!,

Yeah, the kids went back to school!  Boo, I have to get them up, feed them, dress them, brush teeth and make lunch (most of which they do themselves with a lot of complaining!)  I thought I would have time to create their First Day of School page but now all three are home with a stomach bug!  I had to hose out my car practically because one couldn't make it into his bucket!  Ugh!

I put together this page for my eldest boy who is going into the 5th grade.  I used a 12x12" layout with a dark olive green background (a more rugged  look for my 11 year old!)  The patterned papers are both from DCWV, Flower Shower Spring stack - who've thought it would have some more mascuilne papers?

The "5th Grade" wording is from Cricut's Locker Talk cartiridge and is done twice, once in a regular cut in the green patterned paper and again in yellow using the Layer feature which creates the lettering (cut at 4 1/2").  The frame with the arrow is done by using  a different cartridge, one you wouldn't think of using called Going Places. (cut at 6 1/2")  All edges were rubbed with Moss Green Color Box Chalk.
I did 2 layouts, one without embellishments and one with - it looked a little bland without, I thought.  The First Day lettering was done on my printer directly on the background paper.

 Thanks for looking!
