Happy 12th Birthday - Scrapbook Page using Stand and Salute by Cricut

 Hi Everyone!

I have been crazy-busy with school, Halloween & birthdays!  Here is a 2 page layout (I actually did 6 pages) for my son's 12th birthday.  He wanted to have a party that incorporated his love of Halo Reach (his favorite online XBox game), a movie that just came out and a sleep-over, all in one party!  So we had a Nerf War in the backyard and then took all the kids to the movies and one lucky buddy spent the night (we kept this a secret from the other kids ;~)!

To make a 6-page layout, I needed to make sure I had enough brown background paper and then tried to think of a simple layout I can copy 6 times.  Usually I take a plain background paper and then cut a patterned paper in 1/3 and 2/3 proportions.  Then I find embellishments, in this case a Cricut machine gun, helmet, stars border, Happy Birthday and 12.  Simple colors made it go together easily and fast!

I added the Happy Birthday with pop-dots to give it a little dimension.

I put the 12x12 paper thru my printer to add my journaling.
Here's the "popped-up" Happy Birthday with the 12 laying flat against the background paper.

The white patterned paper is a crackle-look with a little khaki color in the cracks.
The red stars border was welded together with my Gypsy.
  • Plain paper - Bazzill
  • Patterned paper - Karen Foster, White Crackle
  • Cricut cartridge - Stand and Salute, Beyond Birthdays & A Child's Year (12)
Thanks for looking!
